The Piper Cherokee Archer was introduced in 1960 and over 32,000 units were manufactured. Many variants were produced, the first being the PA-28-140 Cherokee Cruiser which is a 4 person aircraft with an empty weight of 1201 lb. It is powered by a single Lycoming O-320-E2A which produces 150hp. 123 knots is the maximum speed of the PA-28-140, and the climb rate is 660 feet per minute.
Another variant, the PA-28-160 Cherokee used either the Lycoming O-320-B2B or Lycoming O-320-D2A and has a gross weight of 2,200 lb. The PA-28-180 Cherokee variant used a 180hp Lycoming O-360-A3A engine, while the PA-28-180 Archer differed from the same model number Cherokee version by having an extension on the fuselage of 5", a larger wingspan, a slightly heavier gross weight (2450lb vs 2400lb on the PA-28-180 Cherokee) and some other variations. Other variants of the Piper Cherokee Archer included the PA-28-235 Cherokee Pathfinder from 1972. This is a much more powerful 235hp aircraft weighing 3000lb. In 1963 a seaplane version of the Cherokee was certified; the PA-28S-180. Our inventory of Piper Cherokee Archer aircraft is the best you'll come across.
