Speeds up to 200 ktas on a miserly 13.5 gph. In 1997 and 98, Mooney improved the best and called it the ‘Encore’. The Encore eliminated the one shortcoming of the 252 – useful load – by upping the horsepower and adding 230 lbs of gross weight. Speed, efficiency, payload and fun. The best part of this one? It is priced only slightly above a 252 but newer by 7 to 12 year models!
