Corporation introduced the first Beechcraft Baron in 1961 as a civil utility aircraft. The Beechcraft Baron 58 was developed from the Baron 55. It has club seating and is outfitted with dual aft baggage doors. The Baron 58 had a gross weight of 5,400 pounds and powered by dual 300 horsepower engines. The aircraft cruises at 230 mph. In 1976, the turbo charged Baron 58TC was introduced. This model was pressurized and could cruise at 253 mph at 20,000 ft. The turbo charged model was discontinued in 1984-1985, but the naturally aspirated Baron 58 was still in aircraft production as of 2010. The Baron G58 was introduced in 2005 and is still in current production. This aircraft is basically identical to the Baron 58, but with glass cockpit Garmin avionics.
