Summary

Last Annual: 6/28/2025
Complete Logs -available upon request.
This is one of very few Archers with the cleanest exterior and most modern glass cockpit panels. It is mistaken by many people that this airplane is a brand new airplane. 1974 Piper Cherokee Archer is the first year of Piper Archer. Because it retained its Hershey Bar wing, it was called Cherokee Archer while expanding 5 inch in length giving comfortable room for rear passengers.

Here are the upgrades I added to the plane since my acquisition in 2022.

- New exterior paint in 2024 (Corona Air Paint)
- New glass cockpit panel (Aero Performance Specialties in Chino, CA) including:
• Dynon 10" Skyview HDX for PFD/MFD
• Trio Pro Auto Pilot
• Avidyne IFD440
• PMA 6000B Audio Panel
• 4 USB charging port
- New Sensenich Propeller installed in 2023 ($5389 plus labor)
- New Lord Shimmy Damper installed in 2023 (The OEM Archer shimmy damper has known performance issues, whereas the Lord shimmy damper provides significantly better damping and nosewheel stability.)
- New Concord Sealed Battery installed in 2023
- New Rosen sun visors installed, replacing the original factory units, which had a noticeably lower build quality.
- LED conversion for all exterior lights (landing, strobe, nav, beacon)
- Stitched leather wrapped yokes and new leather work on glareshield (Chino Aircraft Interior)
- New Propeller installed in 2023 (Because I couldn't find record of last propeller overhaul was missing in the logbook)
- And many extra as I tried to correct any minor problems as I flew such as shimmy dampener, new tires and brakes, etc.

Paint and avionics upgrades alone costed me more than $110,000. To many, this airplane will not make sense, but I'm sure there are few that want aircraft upgraded like this with everything already done, instead of me having it at the shop for 9 months for upgrades.

Airplane flies flawlessly, during 200 hours of ownership, it never even once had hiccup with engine performance. I few it to Sedona, Las Vegas, Monterey, not ever once I had an issue. My A&P who serviced the plane for the last 3 years tells me my airplane is rock solid even though it has 8000+ hours. All ADs have been complied with. Because I regularly fly this airplane with my wife and kids, structural integrity has always been my top concern. At every annual inspection, I specifically requested that my A&P go beyond the standard checklist and spend extra time examining the wing spar, carry-through structure, and all known corrosion points. Each year, after detailed visual and physical inspections, I was assured that the airframe is completely solid-with no signs of corrosion, no weakening, and nothing that raised even the slightest concern. I am confident that you will come to the same conclusion after your own prebuy inspection. A BatteryMinder is included with the sale, and the aircraft is already wired for quick plug-in to keep the battery fully charged and conditioned.

I'm listing it for $195,000 which is less than the price I paid for the airplane and the upgrades. I'm currently in escrow for SR-22, and it is so sad to see this go.

My name is Jim Kahng, my next door hangar friend David will be helping me with this sale.
